Specialisation categories permit the guest to select a hotel based upon its characteristics, by providing additional references in respect of orientation on a particular guest segment and the infrastructure of a hotel. The business traveller, for instance, immediately recognises the hotel as a seminar or business hotel. The specialisation categories point holidaymakers to the ideal hotel for their needs, e.g. «Family-friendly hotel», «Bike-hotel» or «Wellness hotel».
The hotelier can apply for specialisation categories in addition to the basis category (these categories are optional).
